Coconut in the Tet fruit tray is an indispensable part of Vietnamese tradition. The fruit tray is not simply a dish but also has many spiritual and feng shui meanings, symbolizing good wishes for the new year.

Meaning of the Tet fruit tray:

  • Prosperity: Coconut with its round, plump shape is often considered a symbol of fullness and prosperity. People believe that coconut brings prosperity, fortune and helps the family have a warm and prosperous new year.
  • Symbol of purity and peace: Coconut also symbolizes peace and serenity in the family. The sturdy, durable coconut shell is like a wish for the family to always be healthy and steadfast in the face of all challenges.
  • Feng Shui meaning: Coconut is often considered a symbol of prosperity, prosperity and harmony. There is also the concept that coconut brings protection, brings fortune and helps the family avoid bad luck in the new year.
